For the past 79 years the USTA Boys' 18 & 16 National Championships have taken place in Kalamazoo, Michigan. 

​

This tournament is the single most important event for outstanding junior tennis players in the United States. Ten days of intense, tough, inspired tennis earn, for each of the ultimate winners in singles and doubles, the cherished title of United States National Champion.

As a testament to the incredible tennis played here, the 18s Champions in Singles and Doubles winners receive an automatic bid to the main draw of the U.S. Open Tournament. You will see some of the best junior players in the country and therefore, the world! 

Please Be Aware:

  • All MAIN draw and FIC matches are chaired starting Friday, August 6th. 

​

  • We start to use line crews on Thursday, August 12th, until the finals on Sunday, August 15th (as the schedule allows).

​

  • All matches start @ 8:00 a.m. with most report times at 7:15 a.m. with a morning meeting at your respective site

​

  • Lodging is provided

​

  • Full medical staff at all tournament sites

USTA Rules, Format & Verbiage

  • Best 2/3 sets (with ball change for the final set) in main draw (SINGLES)

​

  • ​5-minute warm-up for ALL matches

​

  • 10-minute rest period before the final set (MAIN-Singles)

​

  • Consolation Singles matches use an MTB in lieu of a final set with a 3-minute authorized rest period (with coaching).

 

  • DOUBLES:

    • no -ad scoring

    • best 2/3 sets with a MTB in lieu of a final set.

  • No-ad  scoring 

​

  • USTA rules and regulations (i.e. no line call appeals)

​

  • PPS - Point Penalty System (no warning):                      point >> game >> default.
